Petrified wood is really quite cool. It occurs when the organic materials of the wood are replaced with minerals through a process known as permineralization. Science aside, though, we think petrified wood is beautiful. Every piece is unique and raw in some way. It comes in an array of colors and patterns, depending on the minerals it is composed of. It can be masculine, or it be just the right surprise in a very feminine space. It also transcends style, which makes it a great addition to almost any interior space.
